Lovely Little Oils

“Oils? What like cooking oils?”

This was a question asked to me when I mentioned that I was running an oil class. I must admit I had to laugh, as I probably would have asked the very same question three months ago. “No,” I replied, “the class is about essential oils.”

I was met with the same blank stare that I would have given, and so I started to share more. My foray into the world of essential oils was unexpected, to say the least, and their impact on me was even more so. The more I learn, the more I share, and I would love to share my story with you.

I recently started using essential oils in my prayer life to support me mentally and emotionally, and their effect on both me and my three children has been staggering. Motherhood is my dream job, however, like many, I have found that adapting to my new role as a mama isn’t always smooth sailing. After a particularly tough adjustment period, I found that I was struggling to relax, and felt very tense and anxious a lot of the time. While scrolling Instagram I happened upon the post of a friend of a friend who was offering free Tired Mumma Survival Kits. I signed up for one and was delighted to receive the kit a few days later.

Tired Mama Kit

The kit was made with Young Living Essential Oils and included an En-R-Gee blend roller for the day, a sleepy babe balm made with lavender oil, a sample of Peace & Calming oil and some Epsom salts. I dropped the Peace & Calming oil on my pillow as instructed, I rubbed the balm on my chest and that night was the first night of restful sleep in a very long time. I was shocked by the way that these little unassuming oils promoted a state of calm and relaxation when I had felt the very opposite.

I started to ask my new friend more about the oils and did lots of research online. I knew that essential oils were ‘good’ and are often included in skin care and smellies, but I had never known the action or effect of the oils in their purest state when used aromatically or topically. I found out that there was a Premium Starter Kit that would get me going on my oily journey, so I saved for two months and bought my kit.

Ever since I first opened the lovely little oils and the dewdrop diffuser I have used my oils Every. Single. Day.

I diffuse different single oils and blends, experimenting with the ones that I know and asking for suggestions on the Bloom Community Facebook page. I have created roller blends that we can use on the go, such as the Immune Wellness roller with Thieves, Frankincense and Lemon to help promote healthy people this season. My absolute favourite oil is Stress Away and I wear this daily as perfume!

I am so thankful for essential oils. I really believe that God has answered my personal prayer to help support my body emotionally and physically without chemicals, and these oils have helped provide a balanced mommy and a welcoming calm environment for the children.  The impact on my life has been so huge that I have now launched a business to educate others on the use of essential oils. I want to share these oils with everyone because I truly believe that they will massively impact and improve your health and wellbeing. I have a Facebook page dedicated to all things oily, and I would love to talk to you about any specific needs you may have and how to use oils in everyday life.
