Mental Health Swims

10am last Saturday of every month come rain or shine!

It’s with great pleasure I can tell you that Mental Health Swims are exempt from the six people rule which means we can swim without capping numbers providing we adhere to social distancing rules.

Cold water swimming is incredible for our whole body health and has been shown to dramatically decrease anxiety and depression. We swim to soothe our souls, wash away the worries of the week, and invigorate our mind and body.

Our swim meets are more of a ‘dip’ as opposed to swimming any actual lengths. You will enter the water up to a depth that you feel comfortable and allow the salt water to do its work. You can bob, dive, swim, chat or simply lay back and immerse yourself in the experience. It is totally up to you!

Each meet will last approximately 1 hour, of which we will spend up to 30 minutes in the water. Then we can dry off, grab a cuppa and do a mini litter pick to thank our glorious ocean for our experience. Bags and gloves will be provided.

Here’s what you need to bring:

  • Swim wear / wetsuit – whatever you are most comfortable in!
  • Hat/Goggles (if preferred)
  • Towel
  • Hand Sanitiser
  • Hot drinks flask or card to buy drinks from Cafe Remos
